Solar power can help you dramatically reduce the running costs of your property. When calculating exactly how much you can save with solar power, there are a number of variables to be considered:
You can easily see how much electricity you use by looking at your last electricity bill. The amount of electricity you consume will be shown in kilowatt hours (kWh). Any good solar retailer/installer will use your bill as a reference point to determine how much you can save with solar power plus which system is right for you.
Typically, larger properties or households with higher energy demands will require a solar power system around the 5kw range or higher. A 5kw system typically generates between 18kW/h - 25kW/h (depending on your region) of solar electricity on average per day.
Your solar power system will produce electricity during daylight hours, with any surplus electricity generated being sent back into the grid. Your energy provider will credit you for the this power and this credit helps offset your power bills.
Just a reminder that the clean electricity created by your solar power system is always used in your home before power from the grid. If your home uses more electricity than what your solar power system can provide, it will then source grid power.
